The James River Association invites you to join them for an evening of learning about the past, present and future of the James River. This workshop, which is being offered through the University of Richmond’s Environmental Stewardship and Sustainable Design program, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 19, 6:30-8 p.m. at the University of Richmond.

Members of JRA’s Advocacy, Riverkeeper and Watershed Restoration programs will lead this interactive workshop which will focus on the health of the James River. Topics will include how the river’s historic relationship with Virginia and Jamestown impacted and changed the health of the James, the changes we have seen in the James since the initiation of the Clean Water Act, the current state of the James River and where the James is headed.

As a follow-up to the James River: Past, Present and Future workshop, JRA’s Watershed Restoration staff will be leading a rain barrel workshop. The workshop will be held Wednesday, Sept. 26, 6:30-8 p.m. Participants will learn about proper rain barrel use and each participant will make a rain barrel to take home. The cost of the rain barrel workshop is $74.
